There were 22 members and 2 visitors in attendance for our 15th Anniversary celebration. Minutes for the January meeting were approved as written on the blog on motion by Judy S. with a second by Lauren H. The treasurer's report was given by Karen C. and approved on motion by Tonya S. and seconded by Julia G.
We had an excellent time celebrating 15 years of Possum Town Quilters. It was so nice visiting and catching up with many we haven't seen in months. Thank you all for being a part of PTQ and loving the art and creativity of quilting. Here's to another 15 years and more.
Old Business
Crayon Challenge - Crayon challenge projects were displayed and members voted on viewer's choice. Winners were - 1st place - Gwen S.; 2nd place - Pat Hickey; 3rd place - Patti Moore. We had excellent participation and many beautiful projects.
UFO/PHD Challenge- PTQ will have a year-long challenge for members to complete unfinished projects that have been put aside for some reason or another and never picked back up. Members will contribute $5 to participate and pick 3 projects they would like to finish this year (not projects you are currently working on). We will have "check-ins" throughout the year and reveal the completed projects at the Christmas party in December. Members who complete their projects (including a label) will split the entry money. Gwen S. has a detailed information sheet for those who want to be a part of this challenge. Please see her at the next meeting to get started.
Trunk Show/Bed Turning - Judy S. held a trunk show/bed turning of some of her quilts she's made over the years. As a charter member of PTQ, she shared how the guild was formed by a group of ladies who had a vision and desire to unite and fellowship with other quilters.
