Possum Town Quilters met for their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, January 8, 2022. The meeting opened with a welcome from guild president, Ina J. There were 17 members in attendance with no visitors. Minutes for the November meeting (as we did not officially meet in December) were approved as written on the blog on motion by Tonya S. with a second by Marilyn H. The treasurer's report was given by Karen C. and approved on motion by Judy S. and seconded by Tonya S.
Due to the MQA Spring Gathering in Starkville, MS, on February 11-12, our next regular monthly meeting will be on Saturday, February 26, 2022. This will be the 15th Anniversary of Possum Town Quilters and we plan to celebrate! We hope everyone can attend.
Old Business
Crayon Challenge - Crayon challenge projects will be due at our next meeting. The three crayon colors drawn from the bag are to be the main colors of the project. Other colors can be used but the drawn colors must dominate. We will make a four block wall hanging. Blocks should be at least 6 inches but no larger than 12 inches. We will have a vote for viewer's choice and there will be a prize for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place!
New Business
UFO/PHD Challenge- PTQ will have a year-long challenge for members to complete unfinished projects that have been put aside for some reason or another and never picked back up. Members will contribute $5 to participate and pick 3 projects they would like to finish this year (not projects you are currently working on). We will have "check-ins" throughout the year and reveal the completed projects at the Christmas party in December. Members who complete their projects (including a label) will split the entry money. Gwen S. has a detailed information sheet for those who want to be a part of this challenge. Please see her at the next meeting to get started.
Quilt-As-You-Go Demonstration - Tonya S. demonstrated how to piece together individual blocks which have already been quilted.
