Minutes were approved after a correction of date has been made to the Friendship block quilt shown by Pat at last meeting, with a motion by Judy and second by Cece.

Judy presented the Treasurer report.

Watana motioned to look into getting Gloria Loughman as a teacher. She is from Australia and Watana will look into costs involved for this.

We have patterns for the Hug Capes for chemo patients and need to know if there is interest in making these as a charity project for the guild?  Any members are welcome to borrow the patterns we have for their own use as well as long as they are returned. Copies can be made as well.

Habitat house is going to be dedicated on Wednesday 13th at 4:30. PTQ will donate this quilt at the dedication.

Maple Street Quilters will have their sit and sew hand quilting from 10-2 at the RAC every Thursday starting this Thursday. They will work on PTQ charity quilts/projects and it is open to the public as a means of educational purposes into quilting.

MQA Fall Gathering will be on October 3-4 in Winona.

Magnolia Heirlooms is closing their retail side of the store, but keeping open the classes and quilting side. They will have 50% off sale starting on August 12 and going through September 19.

July 12, 2025 Meeting

Meeting minutes from June were accepted as posted with motion from Ina and second from Shannon.

Treasurers report was given by Judy.

Door Prizes were won by Shannon and Ina.

Ina showed the Relay for Life Quilt and did the drawing for the raffle. Dottie won. This quilt was pieced and quilted in honor of those who have lost someone to cancer.

August 9th Watana will do a demo on Chenille quilting and will hold a class on August 23rd.

Nancy Losure did a demo on the Quilt Hugs that she has made for Chemo patients. These are made from fabric and fleece. You quilt as you go in strips. They have pockets on the inside and velcro on the front to close them. Guild purchased 5 patterns. 2 yards of fleece can make 2 of these quilt hugs. The patterns are on aisle runner material that can be found in rolls at Michaels. So copies of the pattern can be made if you want to.
