Possum Town Quilters met for their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, August 13, 2022. The meeting opened with a welcome from guild president, Ina J. There were several members and one visitor in attendance. Minutes for the June meeting were approved as written on the blog on motion by Patti M. with a second by Pat H. The treasury report was given by Karen C. and approved on motion by Marilyn H. and seconded by Ruby J.
Old Business
MQA Fall Gathering - PTQ will be hosting the MQA Fall Gathering on October 14-15, 2022. Pat H has donated a fall themed quilt for PTQ to raffle off at the Gathering. Tickets for the raffle will be sold 1 - $1 or 6 - $5. Tickets will be sold up to and throughout the Gathering and the winner will be drawn at the end of the Gathering. If you have not picked up a ticket packet, there are still some available.
Other updates for the Fall Gathering are: Hotel blocks have been reserved; Catering by Zackary's and Little Porky's; Vendors secured are Magnolia Heirlooms and Main Street Fabrics; Other possible vendors will be contacted provided there is space available. Each guild will be providing a door prize; The theme for Friday night is "Fall Festival."
Library Christmas Tree Ornaments - If you signed up for a Christmas ornament kit to make new ornaments for the annual Library Christmas Tree, please be completing those and return to Gwen S. by the November meeting.
New Business
Nominating Committee - A committee was selected to nominate candidates for guild officers for 2023. Committee members are Ina J., Judy S. and Rita W. The new slate of officers will be presented and voted on at our September meeting.

Challenge Quilt - Pat H. & Carol J. completed the top of our quilt and presented it at our meeting. Thank you for participating!
Charity Quilts - Kimberly S. presented instructions on making a charity quilt with assorted 16-patch blocks. If you are interested in making a block or two for the quilt, please see Kimberly for the instructions.
Historical Committee - Still in need of Charter Member accounts of how PTQ was formed for Patti M. to compile for our scrapbook.

Rent Quilt - PTQ donated a quilt to the RAC for their online auction which will go towards our "rent" for allowing us to hold our meetings there each month. Terri H. has the Moda Blockheads blocks ready to put together for our 2023 Rent Quilt.
Program
For our August program, Karen C. gave a demonstration of how to make quilted tote bags of various sizes. She went through the steps of how to sew pieces onto the fusible foam stabilizer to form your back. She included steps of how to make sturdy straps for your bag as well.
