Hi Ladies! It's been quite a while since I posted and I do apologize. But here it is and I hope you enjoy reading it. We had no guests at our last meeting:(. I was asked to start making copies of the blog posts for those who do not have access to internet, so I will bring those to the meeting on Saturday. The minutes were approved as posted to the blog and the treasurer's report was read and approved.
Old Business:
First things first (LOL), we had ham for lunch. At the next meeting, we will have sub-sandwiches. Please remember to bring $3.00 for a Chef-On-A-Shoestring if you wish to eat. As of last month, we had 11 people signed up for the goal list. Remember, the one who finishes the most goals on their list will win the pot or kettle. It costs $5.00 to join in the competition. This should be fun to see how many goals we reach and how much money I or you could win:)
Remember the Fat Quarter Swap - the color for April was pink or purple. The color for May is floral flowers.
The Artisan's Day quilt is at the rack. Thanks to all those who participated. According to all that were there, it was deemed a success.
Rita gave a report that the Buttahatchee Barn Quilt Tea Cakes and Tea was a great success. They had over 150 visitors come through in approximately two hours. (WOW). She asked if members who let her borrow quilts could leave them a little longer because more people wanted to go and visit the church and view the quilts. We are blessed to have so many talented quilters!!!!
New Business:
Registrations for the June Gathering should have been postmarked by April 14th. Judy gave a report and said as of that date, they only 64 registered for Bonnie Hunter's classes.
If you viewed the earlier post on the blog, you will see that the Barn Quilt (thanks, Rita)is hung out on the 5th Street side of the Arts building. Judy did the replica quilt and Wantana quilted it. Please be sure to mention or thank Bostick Construction for bringing their machinery over to hang it. THANKS GUYS!
For our Challenge Quilt, we will pay $100 plus the cost of supplies to have it quilted. It will be worked on at the April 28th meeting and hopefully completed as well.
Pigeon Forge Challenge packet is a Mountain Heritage Challenge. (not sure who to see about that). Will include more details after talking with Naomi.
The National Quilt Museum has offered a challenge quilt using English Paper Piecing. It can be accessed through the website. (I will post that later as well). For some reason I don't have the website in my notes.
