Possum Town Quilters May 10, 2014 Meeting

Possum Town Quilters Minutes for May 10, 2014 Meeting
President Patti called our meeting to order and welcomed everyone.  We had 25 members present and one guest, Kimberly.

Our May birthdays are: Christine - 6; Linda B. - 9; Lauren - 10; and Tonya - 13.

Julia's quilt, "Only a Lily", won 1st place in the New Quilts from an Old Favorite contest by The National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY.  Her quilt is featured on the cover of the latest book titled Carolina Lily.  Julia participated in a book signing during QuiltWeek in Paducah and several members were able to go by to see her at the museum.
Diane, Sue and Rita visited with Julia at book signing.
Congrats Julia, we are so proud of you!!

Tonya gave our treasurer report.  There were no changes, so a motion was made to accept and a second was made.

The Education committee is working towards getting teachers lined up for classes for our guild.  When dates and times are final we will post for all to see and prepare for these classes. Thanks committee for all your research.

Each year we give our outgoing President a gift certificate at our annual Christmas party. A motion was made, and seconded, to add the purchase of said gift certificate to the duties of the treasurer.

Judy is working to get our Guild scrapbook up to date.  If you have anything to add, please get to her.

Thanks to Michelle, Patti and Diane for our delicious lunch this month.

Our lunch for June 14 will be provided by Rita, Lauren and Julia.

Thanks, Terri, for taking pictures while I did the minutes, etc.

Enjoy our Show and Tell!!
