Possum Town Quilters met for their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, August 10, 2024. There were 16 members present and 1 visitor. The treasury report was given by Treasurer, Judy S. and there was not change. The treasurers report was presented and approved unanimously.

Committee Chair Reports
Raffle Quilt Committee - "Southern Sayings" - Tonya S. and Patti M. - Judy and Tonya will meet at Magnolia Heirlooms to choose border and backing. Cheri is to ask Brenda E. if she will embroider Southern Sayings on the fabric to be place at top of the quilt.
Quilt of Valor - Ina is taking the quilt to the longarmer. Brenda C. stated we may have two dedications for QoV in September.
Nomination Committee - Karen recommended we need a committee be formed to search for future President, Vice President, and Secretary positions. Treasurer will be Judy Stokes for another year. There were no volunteers.
New Business -
- September meeting will be a jellyroll race and/or sew Linda Bain's Granny Squares quilt blocks together to be donated to the Arts Center for our rent. The Guild paid Linda's family $100 for the blocks which also included the backing.
- Sew Day will be September 21st
- Pat H. brought magazines from Sue Skipper for people to pick through.
- Carol will be finishing selling Linda Bain's fabric, etc. for $1 per yard on Monday, Aug 12th and Tuesday, August 13th from 9 am to 6 pm.

Program -
- Brenda C. demonstrated the Block of the Month using Tri-Rec rulers. She also demonstrated using scraps for making string quilts using pages from a phone book for backing. Also, she showed how to make tumbler quilts using a ruler or making a template.
- Judy demonstrated using our scraps for scrap quilts:
- How to use leader/enders
- How to organize scraps by size and color
- How to use same shades of color named Duckworth Quilts. Search for Duckworth Quilts on Pinterest for ideas.
