  • June 17 and 18 in Jackson
  • Doors open at 3:30pm on Friday: evening program
  • Saturday events start at 9am
    • Morning Class
    • Lunch
    • Afternoon Class
    • Show & Tell
  • Judy is in charge of classes
  • Classes, Lectures, and Sit & Sew
  • Vendors will be present
  • Newsletter will be posted at www.mississippiquilt.org
    • Keri is MQA's Newsletter Error
      • Great Job on Newsletter, Keri!

MQA National Education Class
  • Must be an MQA Member to attend
  • Mickey Depre is teacher
  • Classes are Pieced Hexies Buffet and Summer Carnival
  • Cost is $30 and you MUST have the corresponding book (no sharing)
  • July 18 & 19 in Starkville
  • July 20 & 21 in Jackson
  • July 22 & 23 in Hattiesburg

Old Man River Quilt Fest
  • August 16 - 20 in Vicksburg
  • Registration is Open
  • June 30 is last day for Quilt Show Entry Submissions

    • This is our Sit & Sew Saturday, so no Sit & Sew
  • The membership will be voting on the class (Lauren to send info)

  • The Starkville Guild may have a class on Friday

Habitat for Humanity
  • Our April Columbus HS Quilt was a HIT at the last Habitat House
    • The Quilt was started on a Saturday and completed by the next Wednesday, in time for the Habitat Dedication - GREAT JOB LADIES!!
    • This was our 27th Quilt
    • This was our 12th House donation
  • Expect the next house to be dedicated 1st weekend in June
    • We have a quilt ready
  • We have yet another quilt almost done
    • Thank You to Watana for the donation of the quilt top and quilting
    • All we need to do is finish the binding

Fall Gathering
  • October 21 - 22
  • Will need help all day Friday to set-up; then stay until ~ 8 - 9pm
  • Judy is chairing the Gathering
  • T-Shirt discussion to occur at June meeting
  • Good progress on Goody Bags -
    • Bags are done
    • Gwen is finishing row markers
    • Stilettos are in-process
    • Annette is making the machine dusters
    • Next Group Project is the Coasters
    • The Starkville Guild plans to contribute an item
  • Outstanding Quilter Award to also be presented
    • Timing tbd
    • Ag Museum is under construction, so that location is not an option for 2016
    • Nominations are due by end of August
    • Nominee must be at least 65 years of age
    • Nomination Form is in MQA Newsletter

Civil War Log Cabin Quilt is Complete

Thoughts and Prayers are with Brenda E and her family
  • Guild voted to donate a $50 memorial to the Society of St Vincent de Paul
  • Personal donations will be added to the Guild Contribution

She rearranged the blocks for a better flow of color - and did the needed repairs
